:(
The mood is just right, I love the music in the overworld, it has something I can't explain, but it is its own vibe.
I'm usually not a fan of these types of games, but I enjoyed it very much, I guess the atmosphere really got me immersed.
I am glad you say that for my goal was to create an idle builder rpg that I would play since I usually do not like the idle genre much myself. The immersion was a big focus.
Love it! If you expanded it a little I think you could sell this on steam!
Thanks you for being supportive :)
Im a little confused, are characters supposed to be OP? Or the player should not have a bottled fairy (+18 health +3 regeneration) in the ruins? I started doubting if im playing how intended when characters started speaking about how they will all die this night or something
Okay, i have beaten the game now and:
1) It is fantastic.
2) I'm intrested in what other characters say in the end, but don't have the time to beat the game 3 more times.
3) I sacrificed everyone exept for the warrior, the rogue and the mercenary were easy choices, but the choice between th knight and the warrior was really hard, i liked them both.
This is basically a graphical adaptation of a dark room. Very cool. The vibe is definitely there.
Thank you. It is an inspiration :)
Made an account on this website which i use rarely use might i add just to say what an amazing game this is, truly refreshing to play something unique
It boosts my spirit to hear :D
the only thing that is confusing is how to find the portal
awesome game
The portal is buildable after all 4 base dungeons are complete :)
Top tier game here, i was thinking it was something small but i was gladly wrong
Thank you! It brightens my productivity.
The dungeon 'going dark' as some other posts mention seems to only happen when using the warrior class for the portal, if that helps with debugging at all
Thank you so much for letting me know! It has been unclear lately why it happens but I need all info I can get :)
I have only two classes left, failed the portal twice upon encountering the first enemy both times...! Is there something I can do?
Look for some better gear and make sure to explore a dungeon with the quest marker on :)
Thanks for the reply! I'll try :)
Hey, Is there anything after the portal? I have filled the entire map with buildings and bells, and there is nothing left to do
Not rn i'm afraid. The game is pretty much won after that :)
so what does the ruins and cave do?
They can be explored once a traveler has chosen to stay in your town :)
is there more than the tomb? just want to know if I need to buy like 80 more bell towers lol
After all the base dungeons have been cleared you can build a shrine, see the rest :)
was the protal supposed to close?
The portal closes if you fall or clear it. If you fall you can sacrifice another class to try again :)
The economy is off, leather is irelevant and so are gold generators
very true, i didnt focus enough on these mecanics as I should have. I am not clear yet if I will change it much but we shall see.
Hi. What are bandit camps for? After finishing portal, is there anything to do? - warrior says something about the tomb. Overall very nice and dark experience - love palette-based effects. Can report a bug on first portal attempt - everything goes dark, except torch and nothing happens.
Bandits camps spawn bandits that can raid and be killed by guards. The dungeon that goes dark is happening to some people and I just dont know why… When i patch the game it will hopefully be solved though!
Dark happened to me when on first run i've sacrificed three persons at once. On second run i've sacrificed only one and portal was fine.
okay! Thanks for the info, it helps me a ton!
This is just like the fire place game text but this it has visuals. So cool!
I have gotten to a point where I built a shrine. I was able to sacrifice some party members but not all of them. The prompt is there to do it but nothing happens. Just wondering if I am missing something?
Once you sacrifice someone the portal opens, if you sacrifice 3 of them u have 3 attemps to go into the portal. If you fail there is no way of trying again.
I don't seem to see a portal anywhere.
Edit - OK... it populated above the other location list items.
My final attempt didn't load properly — it only showed the torch and not the character, so the dungeon never actually started.
It's a bit annoying that the game is now in a fail state as a result.
I will have to look into that immediatly! Thanks for letting me know.
Really loved this game! Super immersive and quite simple to get the main concept. Graphics are really nice, I love the design of the buildings and village. I think the journey section of the game could do with a bit more of a tutorial as I struggled to understand how to survive, and I'm not sure what the benefit of the journey is to the player in terms of resources. Overall a beautiful game!
This game is wonderful.
I can really feel the inspiration from games like A Dark Room, which is one of my all time favourite games.
You've taken that concept and bumped it up to 11. All round a great experience.
I'm probably in the minority when I say that I don't believe this game needs a proper tutorial like some are suggesting, but maybe a little more direction in terms of what's happening as you play. E.g, the fire brightening as you place buildings could be more obvious, locations not being accessible until they were in sufficient light could be more apparent etc.
Outside of that, thank you for this experience, it was lovely and I hope to see more like this from you in the future.
many thanks! I will surely add an explanation for the light and make a more grasping goal. Nice to hear that you think it’s an amped up version of a dark room^^
this is really interesting! Tutorial would be helpful.
I have 4 locations available for quests. I see a tomb on the map and have houses right next to it but it still doesn't appear as a journey location. Am I missing something?
Edit - Apparently a few more houses and suddenly it was available :)
yes! I will patch so that it becomes more clear. The light radius needs to increase to find dungeons. Thanks though!
A really good, immersive game, but you could definitely write a short tutorial on how to play it, as it took me a while to understand some of the mechanics.
Thank you! Yes I think the game needs some more overall explanation on what to do and how it works. Will patch it soon :)
